Lion’s Mane has a few nicknames, one of which is ‘the smart mushroom’. We find that to be a fitting name because of its support for cognitive function and neurological health.
Studies show that Lion’s Mane supports your ability to focus as well as stimulates the synthesis of NGF (we’ll get to that later). As a functional mushroom, it’s a powerhouse and we’re proud to be the only farm in Puerto Rico cultivating this incredible mushroom.
Lion’s Mane as a Nootropic: The two main bioactive compounds in Lion’s Mane that protect and support cognitive function are erinacines and hericenones. Erinacine compounds are found in the mycelium and hericenones are found in the fruiting body of Lion’s Mane. We make our extracts using only the fruiting body our Lion's Mane.
Nerve Growth Factor (NGF): We told you we’d get to it. What is NGF? Lion’s Mane nootropic effects come from the ability of its compounds to cross the protective blood-brain barrier. These compounds activate the synthesis of NGF which helps promote the growth and repair of neurons in the brain which are the bedrock of our entire nervous system.
Lion's Mane for Anxiety and Stress: As a functional mushroom, Lion's Mane ability to induce NGF allows it to support your bodies ability to better cope with anxiety and stress at an optimal level.
